The government has approved granting the state permission to use an 895-acre mining site in north-west Queensland for a new large-scale coal mine but the Department of Forests and Forests has not confirmed wh바카라ether it will proceed.

Westport will be the site of the largest single coal mine in Australia and a major source of coal in the country for up to 50 years. It can produce more than two million tonnes of coal every year which could also supply gas and electricity.
“The project is likely to contribute substantially to reducing greenhouse gas emissions through reduced emissions from burning coal on site, while potentially reducing the impact on wildlife on site,” the document says.
